Yeni Türkiye’nin Yeni Sineması Neden Taşralı? – Çiğdem Boz, İhsan Koluaçık

Öz

Türkiye sinema tarihi çalışmalarında 1990’ların ortasından günümüze kadar olan süreç bağımsız/yeni sinemacılar dönemi olarak isimlendirilir. Bağımsız sinemacılar taşrayı sosyolojik anlamda analiz ederek 2000’li yıllarda beyaz perdeye aktarmışlardır. AKP iktidarının “Yeni Türkiye” idealinin hayata geçirildiği 2000’li yıllarda kapitalizm Türkiye’de yerleşip gelişmiştir. Bu yıllarda taşranın teveccühüyle iktidarda kalan AKP, izlediği büyüme modeliyle taşrada yeni sermayedar sınıfı yaratarak, sosyal yardım türleriyle yoksulları destekleyerek veya taşrada yeni rant mekanizmaları kurarak bu teveccühün kalıcı olmasını sağlamıştır. Ekonominin ve siyasetin “taşralaştığı” bu süreç sosyal bilimcilerin ve sinemacıların açıklamak istediği bir sorunsal haline gelmiştir. Bu çalışmada Yeni Sinemanın taşraya olan ilgisinin arkasında yatan ekonomi politik nedenleri tartışacağız.

Why the New Cinema of New Turkey is Provincial?

Abstract

In Turkish film history studies, the period from the mid-1990s to the present is called the period of independent/new filmmakers. Independent filmmakers analysed the provinces sociologically and transferred them to the screen in the 2000s. Capitalism was established and developed in Turkey in the 2000s, when the “New Turkey” ideal of the AKP government was realised. In these years, the AKP came to power with the favour of the provinces and ensured the permanence of this favour by creating a new class of capitalists in the provinces with the growth model it pursued, by supporting the poor with types of social aid or by establishing new rent mechanisms in the provinces. This process of ‘provincialisation’ of the economy and politics has become a problem that social scientists and filmmakers want to explain. In this study, we will discuss the political economy behind New Cinema’s interest in the provinces.
